The Langham, Gold Coast has an opportunity for a hands-on, service-orientated and experienced Engineering Manager.  In this role, we are seeking passionate, operational driven and professional, who can provide administrative support to the Director of Engineering for all tasks and objectives for engineering conditions to maintain The Property as the market-leader it is destined to be.

Key Responsibilities
As Engineering Manager, you will lead all tasks and objectives for engineering operations, including; for exterior and interior facilities including electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, plumbing, heating, cooling, ventilation, structural, landscaping, carparks and other maintenance necessary to maintain The Property and Hotel Operations in an optimum and efficient manner.

In an operating environment, the Engineering Manager will oversee the daily operations of the engineering team and communicate and manage the daily workload, perform checks on work performed and support the skill development of the Engineering Team. The Engineering Manager will also manage and control the Maintenance Request System and regularly complete analysis on the System in regards to frequent guest or Property issues, timeliness of Requests/Jobs and suggest and implement any improvements based on analysis.

Working closely with all Operational Departments, the Engineering Manager provides leadership and direction of the risk management and WHSE function to ensure the safety of The Property, guests and colleagues.

Qualifications & Skills
To be successful in the role you will have at least two years' experience in the same position at a luxury hotel and proven experience supervising engineering teams in a complex environment.  Other key attributes we are looking for include: 

• 5+ years’ experience as a Maintenance Manager or Chief Engineer
• 5-star hospitality experience
• Extensive experience with rostering, people management and financial planning
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• HVAC, BMS Knowledge & Legislation knowledge
• Understand building operations within a shared services and body corporate scheme (Care taker agreement)
• Be able to problem solve effectively, logically and resourcefully.
• Working knowledge of building compliance, risk management, and a passion for environmental sustainability
• Trade Qualification preferred.
